Highly Integrated Plastic (HIP) Door Module
ArvinMeritor’s new Highly Integrated Plastic (HIP)
door module reduces the cost of modularization by integrating
components directly into the plastic mold. It simplifies assembly
while weighing up to 25 percent less than its steel counterpart.
And, because the high-strength plastic composite is more
acoustically absorbent than steel, the HIP door module helps to
reduce the amount of on-road noise that enters the vehicle.
As a design leader in window regulators, motors and door modules,
this product is another example of how ArvinMeritor is using smart
systems™ methodology to
intelligently integrate components into new modular solutions to
increase value for both the vehicle manufacturer and the end user.
